Ridiculousness

I don't like to admit it, but I have blown beer out of my nose more than once watching Dyrdek's Ridiculousness.  Granted I'm enjoying beer for most of the weekend, but I try to keep it in my mouth most of the time.

NBA Players Union

Looking at the list of the players on the Executive Committee, did they pick the short straw to be nominated to the committee?  Could you get less intelligent people in there?  Who's representing Kwame Brown and his $9 mil contract?

My Two Cents on Subway

On Fridays the cafeteria at my work is closed.  I love the cafeteria.  I usually eat breakfast, First Lunch, and Second Lunch there every day.  (Second Lunch is at 1:30 and the cafeteria lady usually loads up my plate verses throwing the food away.)  But yesterday, being a Friday, it was closed.  So I walked over to Subway.  They're having a special before 9:00 am, buy one get one free.  I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on flat bread.  Two six inch sandwiches came to $3.98.  I gave the guy a $20.  He gave me $16 back.

"Thank you, have a good day."

I looked at him for a second, blew it off and walked out the door.  Halfway out the door I heard him open the register and put my $.02 in the tip jar.

Who does that?

I still made out on the deal as I got paid for sitting on the shitter for 30 minutes that afternoon.  I was going to walk to city hall but only made it to the first floor when I realized "Subway" wanted out, like right then and there.  Those jalapenoes burn the second time through.

In other news, I used to be 220/230.  220 lbs before drinking, 230 lbs after.  I know I've been pretty religous with the weights lately, and my pants still fit like usual, but Friday, after steaks and veggies and beer, I topped out at 240.  I thought it might have been a fluke but I confirmed it this morning with a weigh in at 230.  I hope to be back to 240 by 3:00 today, if you know what I'm saying.

I am a 3.5%er

I signed the 15 yr 3.5% refi today, will save me a boat load of money.  I'm just happy I qualified for it.  I celebrated with a ribeye from Sam's Club.  Actually a small celebration after I unloaded and had two ribeyes on Sunday.  Glad it got done, though.  I was worried Bank of America would be calling, being the 17th and all.  And, surprisingly, I'll get a little cash back (escrow taxes plus $500!), might pick up a new $125 lawn mower.

Once I get that, the ladies will be throwing themselves at me. Well worth the investment.  You know how the ladies like the power tools...

They couldn't have cleaned her up a little before her swan song?

Thirty Five

I recently turned 35.  I'm not sure what to make of this yet.

I'm refinancing the house with a 15 yr 3.5% loan this Friday.  I'd think that would be a step up, home paid off when I'm 50.

I also shit myself while whacking off, and still finished.  Not sure if that's a step up or not but I've gone 35 years without that hapenning, that might be a record in some peoples books.

Shoes

I slept with you partly because you had those cool shoes on.  And now you're going to throw them away?

Maybe not...

ESPN/MLB Fans

If you're a fan of ESPN and MLB you have to look up the Brewer's Tim Dillard doing the Tim Kurkjian clip.  It's pretty fucking hilarious.

South Florida Over

I took the over in the South Florida/Temple game.  121, not that big of a line.  South Florida didn't score a field goal over 16 minutes (bad for the over) and still managed to win.  How does that work?

Lazy Day

Vacation day spent watching college basketball.  Puppy has the right idea.

Road Repair

The City wants to repave the road that my driveway leads to.  It needs to be repaired, but it wil mean that I'll have to park on the street for at least a month.  And 95% of the people who use the street don't live on the street, they just avoid the stoplight a block over.  And they speed, rather fly down the street on the way to work.  I put in my two cents on the business reply card, hoping for sped humps or something - in my best 4 plus pitcher handwriting.

Why isn't the REAL first day of the NCAA tournament a national holiday?

Dinner

This, my friends, is dinner, just hoping I don't fuck it up.

ESPN Hooters Brackett

Who let the camel toe on the chick on the right get through the promotional materials?  Or do I just have a good eye for camel toe?

Eggs for Dinner

Who makes six scrambled eggs for dinner?  This guy!  Cheaper than a $10 pizza from Pizza Hut.

Married Freinds

I called the FA tonight around 10:00.  Granted, I was on my third stint of drinking for the day (started at 2:00 AM), but after several texts I just wanted to hash out some March Madness plans. Typically, the Renter, the FA and I will hang out at Champs in Brookfield, WI, for at least the first four hours of the opening day of the college basketball tournament.  But this year we have an ailing friend in Chicago and might go visit her instead.  Anyway, always single B to thee... thinks nothing of calling a friend at 10:00 PM while my married freinds are settling down for the evening with their wife and kids.

I'm so glad I don't have a wife.  Or kids.  But props for those who can deal with all that.  More than I could handle.

AM Or PM?

As I'm chastising my dog for getting me up before 8:00 AM, the Renter informs me it's 8:00 PM and I have the opportunity to get drunk for yet a third time on this seemingly never ending day.  Sweet.

So Much Info

I hate it when I have so much info in my head but I'm too drunk to convey the message.  I'm the smartest drunk guy you'll ever meet.  Hands down.

Pompous

I didn't mean to sound pompous in the last post.  I work hard to keep my expenses at a minimum.  I'm wearing $10 jeans that I bought three years ago at Old Navy.  I drive a 10 yr old Jeep Wrangler.  My dentist wants me to visit him every 6 months but I put it off for a year and a half.  Sadly, the same goes for the Puppy.  My biggest expense, besides the mortgage, would probably be beer, but I can't realistically cut that out of the budget, at least not right now.  Maybe when I grow up a bit, or grow older, or when the liver calls in sick.  Man, lot of commas in those last two sentences.

As it is, 4:00 am, I'm wide awake and watching an old 007 (James Bond, duh) movie.  But I shoveled the four inches of snow we got, hope that's the last of it.  My heart can't take much more.

Roth IRA

I'm not a 1%er.  I have a $800 snowblower that ran out of oil that I've put off getting fixed (while my grandfather died shoveling snow).  My dishwasher won't drain so I've done the dishes by hand for the past six months (gasp).  The tires on my Jeep are 10 years old and have major signs of dry rot.  I've lifted weights in my basement for two years now verses paying for a gym membership.

But I've always scraped up $5,000 to send to the FA for the yearly Roth IRA contribution.  I used to think that was the best option.  But after talking with some of my older and (hopefully) wiser friends, I'm thinking this is not a good decision.  Why pay taxes now on the $5,000, when I'm paying taxes on my income, when I can pay 15% on the $15,000 I'll need a year once the house is paid off and all I do is play golf for six months out of the year?  When, if, I retire, I won't be in a higher tax bracket than I am now.  Why pay the taxes now?

And I just mailed my federal tax return yesterday.  Will have to do an amendment.

Vacation Day

Have you ever requested off from work, gotten it approved, but yet you still have this lingering feeling that your boss will call and possibly ask you to come in anyways?

This will linger over my head all night.  Good luck getting a good night's sleep.
